Children: Hope of Town

It is pursuant to Republic Act 10661 otherwise known as the "National Children's Month Act", and this month of November, the celebration will be held and the law tasked the Council for the Welfare of Children (CWC), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and the National Youth Commission (NYC) lead the annual celebration with its theme "Karapatang Pambata: Patuloy na Pahalagahan at Gampanan Tungo sa Magandang Kinabukasan", which aims to recognize and appreciate the gains and successes of the Philippines in the glorification, promotion, and protection of children's rights and also, remind all sectors to be responsible raising Filipino children to become discipline, educated, and thoughtful. This November 2019 also marks the 30th anniversary of the UNCRC and the 27th year of the NCM.

This celebration offers a vision of the child as an individual and as a member of a family and community, with rights and responsibilities appropriate to his or her age and stage of development.

Having as well as conducting this program will surely ensure the character growth of children. It will help them have a better quality and improved way of life, they will be safe and free from violence, abuse, neglect, and exploitation, and they will become active in participating in decision-making so that there will surely no regrets in the future.

June 12, 1898 is the day when our country tasted its own freedom from the Spanish Colonization. Every year, all Filipinos are gathering together to celebrate this special holiday occasion. Since it is a national holiday, government offices are closed including business establishment except shopping centers.
