VIGAN CITY FIESTA!

          The Vigan City Fiesta is held every January 25. It is celebrated during the feast day of the conversion of St. Paul the Apostle. St. Paul is Vigan City's patron saint. It usually lasts for a couple of days. It includes within the period celebration of the cityhood of Vigan, which is commemorated every January 27.

          When Vigan City Fiesta is near, Biguenios from all over the country and even abroad are coming home to Vigan to be with their family and friends to celebrate their Fiesta and a lot of tourists are visiting Vigan City also because when Vigan City Fiesta occurs, a lot of events are happening like cultural shows, parade, and street dancing prepared by the local government with the help of local industries and communities. There are also food fairs, arts and crafts, exhibit, as well as carnival which enjoys the youth.

          But the exciting part of the event is the Longganisa Festival because the city has longganisa-themed parade. It become a crowd-drawer as Vigan Longganisa, a native version of Mexican Salami, has a good aroma because of its garlic and because of that, it become a favorite of the Filipino Palate. This dish is very unique, rich in garlic, and a lot of manufacturers tried to copy it but they failed. Come and visit Vigan!
